Privacy and Terms of Use

The Center for European Constitutional Law – Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsou Foundation has created the present website www.monicot.eu (hereinafter “website”) which offers its services under the following terms of use, which visitors are invited to read carefully and visit/use its pages/services only if they fully accept them. Browsing and use implies the express acceptance of these terms.

The website provides its visitors/users with a rich collection of services, pages, options and/or resources including various communication tools, electronic mass access and user communication areas, personal services/pages and content. Existing as well as any new services included on the website are subject to these terms of use, unless expressly provided otherwise.

The visitor/user is responsible for accessing the services of the website and the relevant access may require the payment of fees to third parties (e.g. internet service providers, charge for time spent on the internet). The visitor/user is solely responsible for paying the relevant fees. Also, the visitor/user is solely responsible for his personal equipment with the necessary technological means that allow him to access the services of the website.

The website reserves the right to modify and/or temporarily or permanently interrupt part or all of its services with or without notice to visitors/users.

Intellectual Property Rights-Trademarks

Apart from the expressly stated exceptions (copyrights of third parties, partners and entities), all the content of the site, including images, graphics, photographs, plans, texts, the services provided and generally all its files, are intellectual property, registered trademarks and trademarks services of the mentioned node owner and are protected according to the relevant provisions of Greek law, European law and international conventions. Consequently, none of them may be in whole or in part sold, copied, modified, reproduced, republished or “uploaded”, transmitted or distributed in any way.

Excluded is the case of single storage of a single copy of part of the content on a simple personal PC (computer) for personal and not public or commercial use and without erasing their indication of origin from the node, without affecting in any way the related intellectual and industrial property rights.

Links

The node includes links (“links”) to other websites which are not controlled by it but by third parties (natural or legal entities). The Company does not control the availability, content, personal data protection policy, quality and completeness of the services of other websites and pages to which it refers through “links”, hyperlinks, including the embeddable program for playing visual material of services such as Youtube .

Therefore, for any problem encountered during their visit/use, the visitor/user must contact the respective websites and pages directly, which are responsible for the provision of their services. The website should in no way be considered to endorse or accept the content or services of the websites and pages to which it refers or to be connected to them in any way.

Data protection

The website is committed to protecting the personal information and data provided by visitors/users. For this purpose, it has taken the necessary technical security and organizational measures for the processing of users’ personal data. The personal information collected is stored on password-controlled limited access servers and the website uses special technologies and procedures to enhance the protection of this information against loss or misuse as well as to protect it from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification the disaster.

However, although the website makes every effort to protect the above information, it cannot guarantee that the above technologies and processes will never be compromised in any way. To this end, if any illegal, malicious, inappropriate or unfair use of personal data, which is related in any way to the use of the website, comes to the attention of any visitor/user, he undertakes the obligation to notify the relevant administrators immediately. Otherwise, he will be responsible for the website.

Use of cookies

The website may use cookies to identify the visitor / user of certain services and pages of the site. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the hard drive of each visitor / user and do not take notice of any document or file from their computer. They are used to facilitate the access of the visitor / user regarding the use of specific services of the node, for statistical reasons in order to determine the areas in which the services of the node are useful or popular or for marketing reasons.

The visitor / user of the site can set his server in such a way that it either warns him about the use of cookies in specific services of the site or does not allow the acceptance of the use of cookies in any case. In the event that the visitor / user of the specific services and pages of the site does not wish to use cookies for his identification, he cannot have further access to some of these services (e.g. online shopping). Also, the website may record, and the visitor/user expressly consents to this, the IP address through which the PC has access to the Internet, which information is used exclusively for the collection of statistics.

Non-personal information

When visiting the website, it is possible to collect some information that cannot be associated with a specific person (non-personal identification), which helps the operator exclusively to provide better services to its customers. For example, the “domains” from which the visits come are recorded and the activities of visitors to the website are measured, but in such a way that the collected data remains non-personal, i.e. unable to determine the user’s identity. This information is also called “clickstream” data and is used and analyzed only in aggregate, for the purpose of understanding trends and patterns. The above information is not reviewed at the level of individual users.

Security

Although the website makes every effort to protect against digital viruses and/or any other type of harmful or destructive files and/or programs designed to interfere with, destroy or limit the operation of any software or telecommunications equipment, it cannot guarantee that the website will never be affected by such elements. Therefore, the integrity and safeguarding of the software systems and equipment of each visitor/user is up to his/her own care, the website will not bear any responsibility in case of damage to the electronic equipment (software and hardware) of the users by “viruses” and other harmful files as set forth above.

Limitation of Liability

The website is not responsible for any form of damage suffered by the visitor/user of the pages, services, options and contents of the website which he/she uses on his/her own initiative. The contents of the website are provided “as is” without any warranty expressed or implied in any way. The website does not guarantee that the pages, services, options and contents will be provided without interruption, without errors and that errors will be corrected. Also, the website does not guarantee that the same or any other related site or the servers through which they are made available to users/members, do not contain “viruses” or other harmful components.
